Job Description
Love the complexity of Employee Relations and Industrial Relations? This is a hands-on P&C; Business Partner opportunity supporting a large, operational workforce across a diverse portfolio of client sites throughout VIC/TAS.
n
The Opportunity
n
WorkTrybe is partnering with a leading Australian protective services organisation to appoint an experienced People & Culture Business Partner supporting its VIC/TAS operations.
n
If you genuinely enjoy Employee Relations and Industrial Relations, this is the kind of role where you can put that experience to work every day.
n
You'll partner closely with operational leaders supporting a large, geographically dispersed and shift-based workforce servicing a diverse portfolio of clients.
n
This isn't a purely corporate HR role. You'll be close to operations, building relationships with leaders, understanding what's happening on the ground and providing practical, commercially sound people advice in a 24/7 quick-moving environment.
n
You'll join an established national P&C; function and report to an experienced, supportive and solutions-focused P&C; leader who will give you the autonomy to own your portfolio while providing strong support when the complex matters land.
n
Why this role stands out
n
n
ER/IR exposure – manage a broad range of employee relations matters including investigations, complaints, performance, disciplinary processes and case management
n
Operational business partnering – work directly with leaders responsible for frontline teams across multiple client sites
n
Industrial environment – apply your knowledge of awards, enterprise agreements, unions and shift-based workforces
n
Variety – the diversity of client environments means no two days or people matters are quite the same
n
Strong P&C; leadership – join an experienced national team with a practical, collaborative approach
n
Scale and stability – work within a major national services organisation employing thousands of people across Australia and are genuine leaders bridging people & technology solutions
n
Outstanding new offices – based in Port Melbourne, with five days onsite in the heart of the action
n
Competitive package – depending on experience

What you'll be doing

You'll own the P&C; relationship with a portfolio of operational leaders,
becoming their trusted adviser on everything from day-to-day people matters

n
Interpreting and applying awards, enterprise agreements, policies and employment legislation

Supporting leaders across a large, shift-based and operational workforce

n
About you
n
You'll suit this role if you're the type of HR professional who would rather be close to the operation solving real people issues than sitting in a purely corporate or strategic HR workplace.
n
Ideally, you'll bring:
n
n
3+ years' experience in an HR/P&C; generalist or Business Partner role
n
Strong hands-on Employee Relations and Industrial Relations experience
n
Confidence managing investigations, complaints and disciplinary matters
n
Experience working with awards, enterprise agreements, unions and/or highly regulated workforces
n
Exposure to a large frontline, shift-based blue collar and geographically dispersed employee population
n
A practical, calm and credible approach when dealing with challenging situations
n
The confidence to challenge and coach operational leaders while maintaining strong relationships
n
The ability to move comfortably between strategic conversations and hands‐on case management
n
An HR or related qualification
n
n
Security industry experience would be particularly attractive.
n
We'd also love to hear from P&C; professionals coming from similarly operational environments such as protective services, facilities management, aviation, transport, logistics, labour hire, cleaning or other large frontline workforces.
n
If you know the realities of supporting a 24/7 operational workforce – and this sounds like YOU– this could be a great next move.
n
Please note:
n
Background checks will be completed for the successful applicant. Full Australian working rights are required.
