About the role
n
The Carer Social & Emotional Peer Worker will support the Safeguards team through a combination of face-to-face and virtual service delivery.
n
The primary purpose of this role is to provide individual and group support to carers and consumers, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to enhance carer engagement and support consumers throughout their treatment and recovery journey.
n
This part-time position offers flexibility, with hours negotiated within the operating hours of 10:00am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday. The role may be based in Dubbo or Orange.
n
Working alongside Safeguards Clinicians, a Psychiatrist and Psychiatry Registrar, the successful candidate will play an important role in strengthening connections with carers and improving engagement with those accessing the Safeguards service.
n
This position is supported through the Western NSW Local Health District Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol (MHDA) Peer Workforce Supervision and Support Program, ensuring peer workers are well-supported, safe and effective in their practice.
