About New Energy Training
New Energy Training is a specialist Registered Training Organisation focused on supporting Australia's rapidly growing renewable energy industry. We deliver accredited and non-accredited training across solar PV, battery storage and related electrical technologies, with training facilities and delivery capability across multiple Australian markets.
The business works closely with the renewable energy industry and has strong alignment with
Supply Partners
, one of Australia's leading solar and energy storage distributors. This connection provides valuable exposure to manufacturers, emerging technologies, installers and the broader renewable energy market, while New Energy Training operates as a dedicated training organisation with its own leadership, compliance and commercial objectives.
With demand for qualified electricians, solar installers and battery specialists continuing to grow, the business is entering an exciting period of expansion.
The Opportunity
Working with and reporting to the CEO, the General Manager will have overall responsibility for leading the day-to-day performance and continued development of New Energy Training.
This is a hands-on senior leadership role with responsibility for the overall performance of the business, including people leadership, training operations, student experience, sales, compliance, systems, financial performance and continuous improvement.
You will lead the sales, compliance, student administration and training functions while building a culture where people take ownership, work collaboratively and are accountable for their results in ensuring exceptional student outcomes.
If you are an experienced RTO or vocational education leader who knows how to build accountable teams, improve operations and grow a training business, this is an opportunity to make a significant impact.

Provide trainers with the systems, resources and operational support required to focus on high-quality training and assessment.
Continually improve the student journey, from enrolment and pre-training through classroom delivery, assessment and course completion.
Support the sales team to increase course utilisation, student numbers and revenue.
Maintain strong oversight of RTO compliance and ensure the organisation continues to meet its regulatory and contractual obligations.
Lead the transition of the Student Management System from eSkilled to aXcelerate.
Work closely with finance and NET team members to manage budgets, forecasts and business performance.
Support the continued expansion of training delivery, including recruiting and developing trainers in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
Develop strong relationships with manufacturers, industry partners, employers and other stakeholders within the renewable energy sector.
Provide clear reporting to the Board on operational, financial, compliance and commercial performance.
About You
We are looking for a leader who can operate across both commercial performance and RTO operations.
You will ideally have:
Senior leadership experience within an RTO, vocational education, training or education business.
Strong knowledge of RTO operations, compliance and student administration.
Experience managing training delivery, trainer utilisation and operational performance across multiple locations.
A commercially minded approach with experience managing budgets, revenue and business performance.
Strong people leadership skills and the ability to build accountability across teams.
Experience improving systems, processes and customer or student journeys.
Confidence working with sales and marketing teams to drive growth.
Familiarity with aXcelerate or similar Student Management Systems would be advantageous.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with staff, students, regulators, industry partners and the Board.
