We're seeking a Product Finisher – Sandblaster to support our Powder Coating and Steel departments — a role that starts casual with the opportunity to transition into permanent full-time for the right candidate.

About the Role
n
As a key part of our production team, you'll be responsible for preparing steel playground components for finishing. Your focus will be sandblasting and weld finishing to support our high-quality powder coating process.
n
Sandblasting & Finishing Operations
n
Clean welds and remove spatter from steel components
n
Prepare components for sandblasting, including batching and loading the blasting booth
n
Operate sandblasting equipment safely and efficiently
n
Coat, seal, and finish welds to required specifications
n
Unload and inspect finished components following blasting
n
Sort and batch components ready for powder coating
n
Load and unload the powder coating line
n
Conduct routine care, cleaning, and basic maintenance of the blast unit, machinery, and tools
n
Maintain clean, tidy, and debris-free work areas, including blasting booths and surrounding zones
n
Assist the steel department with cutting, linishing, drilling, bending, and pressing of steel sections and components
n
Support the loading of jigs and setup of steelwork machinery
n
Assist with basic machinery and compressor maintenance
n
Fetch,



reposition, sort, and manage stock, components, and raw materials as required
n
Work Health & Safety Responsibilities
n
Comply with all Work Health and Safety policies, procedures, safe work method statements (SWMS), and instructions
n
Correctly use all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory protection, hearing protection, eye protection, and protective clothing
n
Safely operate sandblasting equipment, forklifts, powder coating lines, and all tools in accordance with training and procedures
n
Ensure blasting booth equipment, and work areas are maintained in a safe condition
n
Follow correct procedures for handling, storage, and disposal of blasting media, coatings, and waste materials
n
Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and WHS training as required
n
Quality, Productivity & Continuous Improvement
n
Ensure preparation and finishes meet company and product quality standards.
n
Work to production schedules and meet agreed output targets
n
Report defects, rework requirements, and equipment issues promptly
n
Skills Required
n
Proven experience in sandblasting operations
n
Experience in coating processes
n
Ability to safely operate basic metalworking machinery and tools, including grinders and hand tools
n
Demonstrated accuracy in measuring and marking materials
n
Forklift operation and general materials handling experience
n
Solid attention to detail with a focus on quality control & safety
n
