Depot Operations Assistant / 2IC - Freight & Logistics

Job Description

We're looking for a capable, hands-on person to become an significant part of our Toowoomba depot team. This is a full-time, depot-based role working alongside our Depot Supervisor to help keep the day-to-day operation running smoothly. The role is varied and hands-on, including assisting drivers to unload and reload vehicles, moving freight around the depot manually and by forklift, scanning and sorting freight, preparing freight for delivery, and helping maintain an organised and efficient depot floor.

We're looking for someone who can see what needs to be done and get on with it. You'll need to be proactive and able to use your own initiative, while working closely with the Depot Supervisor, other team members and the business owners. Good organisational and people skills are important.

You'll be dealing with drivers, customers and other team members throughout the day, so you need to communicate well, be approachable and helpful,



work cooperatively and be comfortable taking direction when required. Hours of work Duties commence at 10:00am Monday to Friday.

Finish times vary depending on daily freight volumes, with approximately 7:30pm typical Monday to Thursday and Fridays often finishing around 7:00pm. This is a Monday to Friday position only. Applicants must:

- Hold a current forklift licence
- Hold a current car driver licence
- Be physically fit and capable of regular manual handling
- Have good literacy and numeracy skills
- Have good organisational and communication skills
- Be confident with technology and willing to learn new systems as we continue moving from paper-based to digital processes
- Be reliable, proactive and able to use initiative
- Be able to work independently as well as effectively with other team members
- An LR, MR or HR truck licence would be advantageous, but is not essential.

Pay Above-award rates are paid on an hourly basis, with wages paid weekly.
