The role:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our Histopathology team at our Osborne Park Laboratory. This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term position providing parental leave cover.

In this role, you will play an significant part in the diagnostic process by preparing high-quality stained tissue sections that support accurate and timely patient results.

Key Responsibilities:

- Receive, accession, and process histopathology specimens accurately and efficiently

- Perform routine slide staining and assist with allocation to pathologists

- Carry out basic maintenance and cleaning of laboratory equipment





- Undertake routine microtomy and embedding of tissue specimens

- Manage storage and retrieval of slides, including packaging for transport to other laboratories

About You

Essential:

- Proven ability to work efficiently and professionally in a laboratory environment

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team

- Sound computer literacy

Preferred:

- Previous experience in Histopathology

- Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques (preferably with a pathology focus)

Working Hours:
Our Histopathology department operates 24/7, including weekends and public holidays. Flexibility to work within this roster is essential.
