The Opportunity

We’re building a talent pool of talented and motivated professionals to join our Maritime Directorate as Harbour Management Officer.

As a Harbour Management Officer, you will support the day-to-day operation and management of maritime facilities while delivering high-quality customer service to harbour users and stakeholders. You will assist with customer enquiries, boat pen allocations, financial administration, and facility management activities, helping to ensure the safe, effective and sustainable operation of maritime facilities.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop a broad range of operational and administrative skills while contributing to important services that support Western Australia's boating community.

The Harbour Management Officer role forms part of the team at three metropolitan maritime facilities:

- Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour

- Hillarys Boat Harbour

- Two Rocks Marina

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments will be made for future vacancies (fixed term or permanent) that arise within the next (twelve) 12 months from date of first appointment across DTMI.

The Ideal Candidate

The panel will be assessing applicants against the following suitability requirements:

- Experience in a front-line customer service environment, including cash handling skills, receipting and reconciliation procedures.

- Well-developed written and verbal communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to interact effectively with officers at all levels and work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.





- Good organisational skills with ability to prioritise work and meet agreed timeframes with limited supervision.

- Ability to analyse, evaluate, solve problems and make decisions.

- Demonstrated competency in the use and application of a personal computer, including experience with accounting related software and daily financial cash management systems.
