Re-Generate is a specialist engineering business delivering energy and water projects across New Zealand and Australia. Our work spans consulting, design, supply, specialist services and contracting across hydro generation, renewables, gas, heavy industry and municipal infrastructure.

Our projects are rarely repetitive. They can involve hydro-generation equipment, large rotating machinery, gates, valves, piping, pressure equipment and complex industrial plant. You could contribute to new designs, upgrades and refurbishments, technical investigations, independent reviews, manufacture, site work and commissioning.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our newly established Australian business. This role will particularly suit someone motivated by the quality and variety of the work, who wants to remain close to the engineering while also leading projects and working directly with clients.

The role

» Your work will include:

– Leading projects from scoping and concept design through to delivery and commissioning.

– Managing design, analysis, specifications and independent engineering reviews.

– Solving complex technical and practical engineering problems.

– Coordinating multidisciplinary teams and delegating work effectively.





– Managing programme, budget, technical risk, quality and safety requirements.

– Working with clients, suppliers, manufacturers and subcontractors.

About you

» You will bring:

– A recognised mechanical engineering degree.

– At least 10 years of relevant engineering experience.

– Strong technical knowledge and practical problem-solving ability.

– Proven project delivery, technical leadership or independent review experience.

– Sound commercial judgement and solid client communication skills.

– The ability to work independently and travel when projects require it.

Hydro experience would be valuable, but it is not essential. We welcome transferable experience from oil and gas, petrochemical, process, heavy industrial, renewables or other complex mechanical environments.

In return, you will have the opportunity to work across genuinely interesting projects, influence technical and delivery decisions, and remain involved from early scoping through manufacture, installation and commissioning.

The role will initially be remote but requires travel to client sites on a regular basis and could be up to 2-3 weeks at a time, depending on the job.
