About the Organisation:

Our client is a well established telecommunications company that builds and operates network infrastructure. They are looking to strengthen the team with the addition of a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant on an initial 6 month contract. They're known for a practical, forward-thinking culture and a team that isn't afraid to challenge the status quo.

What You'll Be Doing:

Audit & Year-End Reporting

- Help coordinate audit activity and keep things running smoothly with the internal team
- Contribute to the preparation of the group's audited financial statements
- Put together technical accounting papers to back up key treatment decisions

Monthly Close

- Prepare month-end journals as directed by the Head of Finance
- Contribute to tax effect accounting calculations

Projects & Process Improvement

- Review WIP on completed construction activity, confirming costs are coded to the right project and flagging assets ready to be capitalised




- Team up with the asset accountant to work through the backlog of equipment WIP and get assets in operation ready for capitalisation
- Check that lease arrangements on the books match current agreements
- Build a clearer schedule for IRU arrangements, pulling together amortisation and financing impacts

About You:

- Comfortable working within complex ERP systems and understanding how financial processes flow through them
- Solid background in financial statement preparation, tax compliance, and supporting external audits
- Exposure to Asset Management, WIP and Accounts Receivable functions
- A track record of spotting inefficient processes and turning them into practical, workable fixes
- Confident taking ownership of problems and proposing solutions to the wider team

Highly Regarded

- Background in a larger corporate group going through finance system or process change
- Prior experience in telecommunications or construction is highly advantageous

Qualifications

- CA or CPA (or equivalent) qualification required
