About the role

The Housekeeping Team Leader is responsible for leading, supervising and supporting the College's housekeeping team which includes inhouse employees and external contractors. The position is responsible for ensuring high standards of cleanliness, presentation, safety and service across the College. This includes coordinating and monitoring the quality of daily housekeeping activities, managing supplies and equipment and maintaining effective communication with other areas of the College and within the housekeeping team.

Key responsibilities

- Conduct a daily team briefing to communicate priorities, allocate work and ensure team members understand their responsibilities for the day

- Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance and support to Housekeeping team members

- Liaise regularly with the external cleaning contractor supervisor to coordinate activities and support consistent cleaning standards across the in-house and contracted services

- Ensure that important operational issues are communicated to the housekeeping team.





- Provide initial onboarding training to new housekeeping team members and ongoing coaching, guidance and feedback to all team members.

- Conduct regular checks of completed work and address any concerns with the relevant team member to ensure they understand the required standards

- Conduct a daily walkthrough of all College wings and common areas to identify, address and/or report cleaning, resident or maintenance issues

- Monitor the standard and quality of cleaning throughout the College and take appropriate action where standards are not met

- Provide hands-on cleaning support when required, including during periods of staff absence, increased workload or other operational requirements

About you

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:

- Experience in a housekeeping supervisory role.

- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to provide direction and constructive feedback to team members.

- Ability to build positive and skilled relationships with residents, colleagues and contractors.

- Clear and respectful communication skills.

- Strong attention to detail,



with the ability to organise work efficiently and maintain high standards of cleanliness.

- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

- Commitment to safe work practices.

- Reliability, initiative and a willingness to assist with hands-on cleaning duties when required.

- Willingness to suggest improvements and contribute to continuous improvement.

- Legal right to work in Australia on an ongoing basis.
