An exciting leadership opportunity is available for an experienced and commercially focused General Manager to lead Parklands Resort Mudgee, located in the heart of one of New South Wales’ most recognised regional tourism destinations.

As General Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the performance of the property, encompassing accommodation, food and beverage, conferences and events, guest experience, people and culture, financial performance and stakeholder relationships.

We are looking for a hands-on hotel leader who enjoys being visible within the operation, developing their team and identifying opportunities to continually improve both the guest experience and commercial performance of the business.

The Role

As General Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operation of Parklands Resort Mudgee and be accountable for delivering strong operational, financial and guest experience outcomes.

You will be responsible for:

- Providing overall leadership and direction across all areas of the hotel.

- Leading, developing and mentoring department heads and team members to create a positive, accountable and high-performing culture.

- Maintaining high standards of presentation, service delivery and guest satisfaction.

- Managing the property's financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, P&L; accountability, wage management and cost control.

- Driving revenue opportunities across accommodation, food and beverage, conferences, events and other hotel services.

- Maintaining a strong focus on food and beverage performance, including service standards, labour productivity, cost of goods and profitability.

- Maximising conference, events and group business opportunities and ensuring the property delivers an exceptional experience from enquiry through to execution.

- Working closely with the 1834 Hotels corporate team across operations, revenue, sales, marketing, finance, people and culture, and distribution.

- Building strong relationships with owners, stakeholders, suppliers, tourism partners and the local Mudgee community.





- Identifying opportunities to grow the property's market presence and strengthen its position within the Mudgee tourism and corporate markets.

- Ensuring effective workforce planning, rostering and productivity across all departments.

- Maintaining a strong focus on compliance, Work Health & Safety, food safety, licensing and company operating standards.

- Taking ownership of property maintenance, presentation and capital requirements, ensuring issues are proactively identified and managed.

What You'll Need to Succeed

To excel in this role, you will demonstrate:

- Proven experience in a General Manager, Hotel Manager or senior hotel leadership position.

- Strong operational knowledge across rooms, food and beverage, conferences and events.

- A hands-on leadership style with the ability to be visible and engaged throughout the operation.

- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience managing budgets, forecasts, P&Ls;, wages and operating costs.

- A demonstrated ability to drive revenue, profitability and operational efficiencies.

- Experience leading, developing and retaining teams across multiple hotel departments.

- Strong understanding of guest experience and the ability to translate feedback into operational improvements.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Experience working with hotel owners and corporate support teams would be highly regarded.

- Strong knowledge of hotel systems, including PMS, distribution, revenue management and financial platforms.

- The ability to identify opportunities and take ownership of projects from concept through to implementation.

- A proactive, organised and detail-oriented approach.

- A clear commitment to workplace safety, compliance and operational standards.

- Current RSA and relevant food safety qualifications, or the ability to obtain these as required.

Experience within a regional resort, conference hotel or food and beverage-led property would be particularly well regarded.
