About the role

VitalCore Support Services is looking for casual support workers in Woodridge and the surrounding Logan area to support adults living with complex mental health conditions.

The people we support have often been told they are too complex for other providers. We say yes, and we back our workers with the training and supervision to do this work well. You will work one on one with participants in their home and out in the community, helping them build routine, stay well and work toward goals they set for themselves.

What you'll be doing

- One on one support in the home and in the community

- Supporting daily living skills such as meal preparation, cleaning, shopping, budgeting and getting to appointments

- Community access, social activities and building connections with work, study or volunteering

- Supporting each participant's mental health recovery goals and following their support plan and any behaviour support plan

- Recognising early warning signs, using de-escalation skills and following escalation and crisis procedures

- Working alongside support coordinators, clinicians and families

- Writing explicit, factual shift notes and reporting incidents promptly

What we're looking for

- Experience supporting people with mental illness, psychosocial disability or alcohol and other drug use

- Certificate III or IV in Mental Health, Individual Support or Disability,



or equivalent experience

- A calm, patient and non judgemental approach, with firm and respectful boundaries

- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (must be cleared before your first shift)

- Current First Aid and CPR

- Full driver's licence and a reliable, insured vehicle

- Valid Australian work rights

What we offer

- $39 to $45 per hour, paid weekly

- Casual employment under the SCHADS Award. This is an employed role, not ABN or contractor

- Full induction and training before your first shift, including Maybo advanced

- Refresher training every two months

- Monthly group supervision with a clinical psychologist, so you are never carrying the hard days on your own

- Consistent participants, so you can build real working relationships instead of bouncing between random shifts
