Strong Futures Allied Health is looking for a Speech Pathologist to join our growing team in a unique role combining Kununurra, remote East Kimberley communities and Perth-based work.

This role offers the opportunity to build genuine relationships, work alongside Aboriginal families and communities, develop experience in complex and rewarding areas of practice, and see some incredible parts of Western Australia along the way.

The role

Your fortnight will generally look like:

? Week 1 – Kununurra / East Kimberley
Spend the week based in Kununurra, providing community-based Speech Pathology services. Each Kununurra outreach trip will also include a day visiting Liu to provide services in community.

? Week 2 – Perth
Return to Perth and work alongside our wider Strong Futures team, with time for metropolitan clinical work, reporting, collaboration, supervision and professional development.

Then we do it all again!

Who are Strong Futures?

Strong Futures Allied Health is an Aboriginal-owned allied health organisation based in Perth and working extensively across regional and remote Western Australia.

Our team includes Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Therapy Assistants and Art Therapy, with a strong focus on:

- Aboriginal health and culturally protected practice

- Social and Emotional Wellbeing

- FASD and neurodevelopmental disability

- Cognitive-communication

- Psychosocial disability and mental health

- Justice and forensic settings

- AAC

- Dysphagia

- Capacity building with families, communities and support teams





Our work takes us from Perth to the Kimberley and Pilbara, including some of the most beautiful and remote parts of WA.

Why this role is special

This isn't a role where you'll spend every day sitting in the same clinic room.

You might be working with someone in their home, collaborating with family and community, supporting a participant with communication or swallowing, working alongside a Therapy Assistant, or travelling out to a remote community.

You'll have the opportunity to see outback WA while doing work that genuinely matters.

Just as importantly, you won't be doing it alone.

We have an amazing, supportive multidisciplinary team who genuinely enjoy working together. We value learning, collaboration, cultural safety and supporting clinicians to develop confidence in areas of practice they may not have experienced before.

We'd love to hear from you if you are:

A qualified Speech Pathologist with SPA eligibility who is excited by community and outreach practice.

You don't need to arrive knowing everything about remote practice. We're looking for someone who is:

- Warm, flexible and relationship-focused

- Comfortable working independently while being part of a close team

- Interested in Aboriginal health and culturally responsive practice

- Open to learning about FASD, SEWB,



disability and complex communication

- Happy to travel and embrace the realities — and adventures — of remote WA

- Able to adapt when outreach doesn't always go exactly according to plan

- Passionate about providing practical, meaningful therapy that fits into people's real lives

Experience in Aboriginal health, remote practice, disability, FASD, complex communication, dysphagia or forensic/justice settings would be fantastic, but the right person and attitude are just as important to us.
