Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.

Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The MCV determines in excess of 200,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, dealing with over 90 percent of all adult cases that come before Victorian courts each year.

About the Role

Make a meaningful impact in the justice system by supporting people with complex needs to achieve positive change.

Court Support Services delivers specialist therapeutic programs, including the Court Integrated Services Program (CISP) and the Assessment and Referral Court (ARC). Through a client-centred and problem-solving approach, these programs support people facing challenges such as mental illness, disability, substance use, cognitive impairment, homelessness and other forms of social disadvantage.

As an Advanced Case Manager, you will provide high-level case management support to clients with complex mental health and disability support needs, helping them engage with rehabilitation, access critical services and achieve positive outcomes.

Working within a multidisciplinary team,



you will undertake comprehensive assessments, develop tailored support plans, coordinate treatment and support services, and provide expert advice to the Court. You will also play a key role in mentoring case managers and driving practice improvements across the program.

Key responsibilities:

- Deliver advanced, strengths-based case management to clients with complex psychosocial needs.
- Conduct assessments and develop person-centred support and treatment plans.
- Coordinate and monitor access to housing, mental health, alcohol and other drug services, family violence interventions and other supports.
- Identify and manage client risks through effective risk management and harm minimisation strategies.
- Prepare high-quality court reports and provide advice to the Court as required.
- Coach and mentor case managers, sharing specialist knowledge and expertise.
- Build strong relationships with judiciary, legal professionals, community services and internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen service delivery and client outcomes.

About You

Tertiary qualification (minimum Diploma level; degree level highly desirable) relevant to case management practice with forensic clients; such as social work, psychology, welfare, drug and alcohol or another related field, and/or relevant experience.

Demonstrated capacity or experience in case management of clients presenting with complex needs, with well developed knowledge and/or relevant experience in at least one of the following speciality areas: mental health, acquired brain injury, disability, alcohol and substance use, family violence,



or homelessness highly desirable.

Experience in or demonstrated capacity to provide coaching and mentoring to case managers, particularly within an area of advanced knowledge or experience.
