Join the Department of Transport and Main Roads as a Project Support Officer and play a key role in supporting the delivery of major road and transport infrastructure projects across Central Queensland. Working within the Program Support team, you'll provide high-level administrative, financial, procurement and project support to Program Managers and Project Managers responsible for delivering the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program.

From coordinating project information and reporting to supporting contract administration, procurement governance and financial activities, your work will contribute to projects that benefit communities across the region. The Department of Transport and Main Roads is seeking a Project Support Officer to join our Program Support team in Rockhampton.



This role supports the delivery of the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP), helping ensure major road and transport projects are delivered efficiently, accurately and in accordance with governance requirements.

About the team

Program Delivery and Operations Central Queensland Region delivers and maintains transport infrastructure across a diverse region stretching from the Capricorn Coast to the central-west outback. Working alongside Program Managers, Project Managers and technical specialists, you'll be part of a team delivering infrastructure that supports communities, industry and economic growth throughout Central Queensland.

What you'll do

As a Project Support Officer, you'll provide high-level business, project and financial support across a range of infrastructure programs and projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing administrative and business support to assist the delivery of QTRIP projects.
- Assisting with project scheduling and program coordination activities.
- Collecting, analysing and presenting information for project, financial and business reporting.
- Supporting contract administration processes, including progress payments and budget variations.
- Assisting Project Managers with procurement governance requirements.
- Contributing to accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reconciliation activities.
- Using systems such as SAP,



Microsoft Office and other business applications to support project delivery.
- Ensuring activities comply with organisational policies, governance requirements and workplace health and safety obligations.

About you

You are organised, adaptable and committed to delivering quality outcomes. You build positive working relationships, communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders and can manage competing priorities effectively. You enjoy learning current systems and processes, use sound judgement when addressing issues and contribute positively to a culture of continuous improvement. A current C Class Driver Licence is required, and a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment.
