ABOUT THE ROLE

Based in Alice Springs delivering sport, recreation, and arts programs in Alice Springs and surrounding communities to support those who are disadvantaged, isolated and impacted by alcohol and drug addiction, homelessness and mental health problems. Reclink programs support people with a disability and sessions are open to all with the aim to improve the health and wellbeing of participants.

Working closely with the Sport and Recreation Manager NT, the Senior Sports Coordinator will assist in developing and maintaining a diverse range of sports and recreation activities in the designated areas.

ABOUT YOU

To be considered for this role you will need:

- Qualifications from a recognised TAFE, College or University in Community Services, Sport and Recreation, or similar and/or a minimum of two years’ experience in the provision of direct support services to diverse clients.

- Demonstrated knowledge of community sport development.

- Demonstrated experience in using co-design principles in the development of programs for target groups.

- Demonstrated understanding and experience of administrative support systems,



innovative practice and high level of verbal and written communication skills.

- Proven ability to communicate effectively with people from culturally diverse backgrounds.

- Good level of IT knowledge, working with Excel, Word and PowerPoint, Online conferencing experience, social media and promotion.

- Experience in online content creation.

- Work in consultation and in co-ordination with key community stakeholders and service providers in government and community sectors.

- Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously and constructively in a team setting with minimal supervision.

- Able to take the initiative, reliable and able to work independently, innovatively and respectfully with diverse individuals and groups.

- High level of time management and organisational skills and capacity to work effectively within tight time constraints.

You will stand out if you have:

- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the issues faced by marginalised target groups.

- Demonstrated experiencing in working in remote settings.

- Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships within community networks.





- Experience coaching or teaching sport at a practical level, planning and delivering sessions and activities.

- Demonstrated experience in leading a small team.

This is a part-time role 30 hours per week. Maximum term appointment up until June 2027 with the possibility of extension dependent on funding. A competitive remuneration will be paid at SCHaDS Level 4.1 plus superannuation with the option to increase your income through salary packaging.
