About the Role

The Central Services Officer is an important part of the Property Unit's Central Services team, helping to keep the UTS campus safe, functional and looking its best.

This is a hands-on, practical role involving a wide range of physical activities across the UTS campus. You will work as part of a multi-skilled team delivering furniture moves, classroom and event setups, public space services, deliveries and other operational tasks.

The role involves working closely with staff, students, contractors and event teams and requires someone who is comfortable working in a busy environment where priorities can change throughout the day.

Day-to-day, your responsibilities will include:

- Setting up and packing down major events including graduations, Open Day, examinations and other UTS events.
- Moving, setting up and relocating furniture in classrooms, offices, public spaces and event areas.• Setting up and maintaining outdoor furniture and public spaces across the campus.
- Loading, unloading and moving furniture, equipment, materials and deliveries.
- Operating workplace equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies and hoists, following appropriate safety procedures.
- Preparing redundant furniture and equipment for disposal.
- Assisting with minor grounds and other practical campus maintenance tasks.
- Working with contractors and event teams to ensure jobs are completed safely and on time.




- Coordinating and assisting casual staff during larger furniture moves, event setups and other operational activities.
- From time to time, assisting with mailroom, courier and delivery services as required.• Completing work orders, records and other basic documentation associated with the work undertaken.
- Using computerised systems and mobile devices to record work and manage daily tasks.

About You

As the Central Services Officer, you will have:

1. Experience in, or an interest in, hands-on physical work, including furniture moves, event setups, deliveries or similar activities.
2. Positive physical fitness and experience with, or willingness to undertake training in, manual handling and workplace equipment.
3. The ability to work effectively as part of a flexible, multi-skilled team in a busy workplace.
4. A practical, reliable and can-do attitude, with the ability to work independently and respond to changing priorities.
5. Good communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work professionally with staff, students, visitors and contractors.6. Good attention to detail and the ability to complete basic records, work orders and computer-based tasks accurately.

Other mandatory requirements:

1. Current NSW Driving Licence
2. Current St John Ambulance First Aid Certificate, or ability to obtain one if successful.

Remuneration

Base Salary Range: $69,835- 79,614 (HEW 3)

This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is full time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
