About the role

Pho Viet Noodle Bar is seeking an experienced Restaurant Supervisor to join our dynamic team in Cairns, QLD. This is a full-time position based at our restaurant location in Cairns QLD 4870. As Restaurant Supervisor, you will play a crucial leadership role in ensuring exceptional service delivery, maintaining high operational standards, and creating a welcoming environment for our guests. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the front-of-house, supervise waiting staff, and work closely with management to drive business success and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

- At least 1 year of relevant restaurant or hospitality supervisory experience (preferred)

- Relevant qualification of at least Certificate IV level

- At least 1 year of relevant work experience

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and lead a team of up to 10 staff members per shift, including cashiers, food handlers and wait staff

- Assist with the recruitment, onboarding and training of new employees

- Prepare, manage and monitor staff rosters and schedules

- Lead by example and promote a positive, respectful and professional workplace

- Monitor staff performance and ensure compliance with the restaurant's service and operational standards

- Ensure all staff consistently provide a high level of customer service

- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and receiving supplies

- Ensure the restaurant maintains a secure, clean and welcoming environment for both staff and customers

- Handle cash, assist with daily financial procedures and basic bookkeeping

- Respond to and resolve customer enquiries, complaints and disputes professionally and efficiently





- Assist with the smooth day-to-day operation of the restaurant

- Perform other duties as reasonably required to support the restaurant's operations

Essential Requirements

- Relevant qualification of at least Certificate IV level

- At least 1 year of relevant hospitality or restaurant experience

- Strong understanding of restaurant operations and the hospitality industry

- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

- Strong leadership, management and organisational skills

- Effective verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment

- Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification

- Good knowledge and understanding of Vietnamese cuisine

Desirable Skills and Experience

- Previous experience supervising or managing a restaurant team

- Experience with staff rostering, training and performance management

- Experience with cash handling and basic bookkeeping

- Ability to communicate in Vietnamese is highly desirable, as the role involves liaising with the restaurant owner and staff, as well as assisting with customer enquiries relating to Vietnamese culture and cuisine
