About the Role

Bright Waves Swim School in Tarneit, VIC is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Assistant Manager to support the launch and day-to-day operations of our new swim school. Working closely with the Centre Manager, you will play a key role in leading our team of instructors and customer service staff, ensuring the smooth running of the centre and delivering an exceptional experience to every family.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will support team development, maintain high operational standards, and help build a positive, high‑performing culture. Your contribution will be vital in establishing Tarneit as a leading swim school within the community.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Supporting the leadership of a team of swim instructors and customer service staff, fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team environment

- Assisting in the coordination and delivery of high-quality swim lessons across all age groups, from infants through to adults

- Overseeing daily operations to ensure the facility runs efficiently, safely, and to a consistently high standard

- Building strong relationships with team members, families, and the local community

- Supporting the growth and success of the swim school through continuous improvement initiatives

- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and industry regulations and Bright Waves standards

What We’re Looking For

- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role, ideally within aquatics, fitness, or a customer-focused environment





- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, guide, and support a team

- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a genuine passion for creating great experiences

- Well-organised with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment

- A passion for swimming and water safety

- Swim teaching qualifications (or willingness to obtain), along with a current Working with Children Check and First Aid certification

- Relevant qualifications in sport, recreation, or a related field (desirable but not essential)
