Your Opportunity

Do you enjoy working behind the scenes to make practical learning experiences come to life?

We are seeking an experienced Secondary Teacher Aide - Home Economics to join our Secondary Team on a fixed-term contract from 18 January 2027 to 10 December 2027. This is a part-time, term-time position, working 6.5 hours per day, 5 days per week during school terms.

Working within our Home Economics Department, you will help to ensure our Food Technology and Textiles classes are well prepared, organised and ready for learning. From sourcing ingredients and preparing practical spaces to organising textiles and classroom resources, your contribution will help our teachers deliver engaging, hands-on learning experiences for students.

Your Role

- Coordinate the purchasing of food, textiles and other resources required for Home Economics classes.
- Work closely with teaching staff to plan shopping lists and resource requirements for upcoming lessons.
- Purchase, collect and reconcile orders using College purchasing processes and systems.
- Prepare and set up and pack down teaching kitchens and textile classrooms for practical lessons.
- Organise materials, ingredients,



equipment and other resources to support student learning.
- Assist teachers with demonstrations and practical classroom activities where required.
- Maintain organised, secure and well-stocked food, textile, equipment and consumable storage areas.
- Support Home Economics projects, excursions, events and other curriculum activities.
- Assist with the care of equipment, practical learning spaces and the Home Economics herb garden.
- Work collaboratively as part of our Secondary team and contribute to a spiritually vibrant College culture aligned with our Christian mission and values.

About You

You are organised, practical and proactive, and enjoy being part of a busy environment where no two days are quite the same. You take pride in being prepared, notice the details that help things run smoothly and enjoy working collaboratively with others. You have a genuine desire to support young people and contribute to positive learning experiences.

You will bring:

- A practising Christian faith and a commitment to actively supporting and promoting the College's Christian ethos.
- A background or strong interest in food technology, hospitality, textiles or a related area.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.




- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with teachers and other members of the College community.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of safe food handling and food preparation practices.
- A positive, reliable and proactive approach to your work.
- A current C Class Driver Licence.
- A current Blue Card or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement.
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certifications, or a willingness to obtain these.

A Certificate III or IV in Education Support, or current study in Education or a related field, would be highly regarded
