This well-known organisation based in Central Canberra is seeking a media-savvy communications professional to support a busy strategic communications and media function.

Your new role

- Support the organisation's day-to-day media function, including managing and coordinating media enquiries and responses.
- Draft and develop media responses, statements and media-related content.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to gather information and develop accurate, appropriate responses to media matters.
- Provide strong writing and communications support across the broader strategic communications function.
- Assist with media reporting, monitoring and other media-related requirements.
- Manage competing priorities and respond confidently to emerging or time-sensitive media matters.
- Operate autonomously while maintaining robust communication and collaboration across the team.
- 35-hour working week

What you'll need to succeed

- Strong media relations and media writing experience, ideally gained within government, corporate or complex organisational environments.




- Confident in developing media responses and content and working directly with internal stakeholders.
- Comfortable operating at a senior adviser level with minimal supervision.
- Strong judgement, written communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proactive, adaptable and able to quickly pick up priorities within a busy media environment.
- Strong cultural fit and team mentality are important, with the ability to contribute positively to a small communications function.
