An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Development – Customer Service Officer Team Leader to join our dynamic and growing team.

SDS Training is a leading Registered Training Organisation (RTO) delivering quality, industry-relevant training solutions across Queensland and through our national network. We work with clients across the Transport, Heavy Industry, Civil Construction, Mining, Drilling, High Risk, Rail and Health sectors, providing practical training solutions designed to meet the needs of industry.

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and results-driven individual with a genuine passion for business development, sales, customer service and team leadership.

This is a key role within our organisation, combining business development and sales with customer service leadership, administration and compliance oversight.

You will lead and support a team of Customer Service Officers, ensuring the team operates proactively, efficiently and consistently while maintaining a strong focus on sales performance, customer service, administration, compliance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

- Drive sales across our diverse range of training products and services, working towards and exceeding monthly and quarterly targets.

- Identify and develop new business opportunities, generate qualified leads and convert opportunities into sales.

- Build and maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business, referrals and long-term partnerships.

- Understand client needs and provide tailored training solutions that align with their business requirements.

- Proactively follow up enquiries, quotations, leads and prospective clients to maximise sales opportunities.

- Monitor sales activity and performance and support the CSO team to achieve agreed sales targets and KPIs.

Team Leadership & Customer Service
- Lead, mentor and support the Customer Service Officer team in the delivery of sales, customer service and administration functions.

- Establish clear expectations regarding individual responsibilities, performance, communication and accountability.

- Monitor team workloads and ensure tasks are appropriately prioritised and completed within required timeframes.

- Support CSOs to develop their sales and customer relationship skills and improve conversion and follow-up outcomes.

- Promote a one-team culture focused on collaboration, accountability,



customer service and continuous improvement.

- Act as an escalation point for complex client matters and assist the team in resolving issues promptly and professionally.

- Monitor customer service standards and ensure clients receive consistent and professional service.

Administration & Course Coordination
- Oversee the administration of client accounts, course bookings, training schedules and related documentation.

- Ensure training courses are appropriately coordinated and that required information, documentation, resources and payments are addressed prior to delivery.

- Coordinate multiple training calendars and diaries, working closely with trainers, management and clients.

- Ensure accurate and timely processing of enrolments, bookings, invoices, payments and other administrative requirements.

- Monitor outstanding actions and proactively follow up matters to minimise delays, errors and operational issues.

- Ensure accurate and current records are maintained within the CRM and relevant business systems.

Compliance & Quality
- Lead the CSO team with a strong focus on RTO compliance, process adherence and quality assurance.

- Ensure team members understand and consistently follow SDS Training policies, procedures, processes and compliance requirements.

- Monitor the accuracy and completeness of student, client and course documentation.

- Ensure required prerequisites, eligibility information, enrolment documentation, funding requirements and other compliance-related information are appropriately obtained and recorded.

- Identify compliance risks, administrative errors and process gaps and take appropriate corrective action.

- Conduct regular reviews of CSO processes and records to identify areas for improvement.

- Work closely with management and other departments to maintain compliance with organisational requirements and applicable regulatory obligations.

- Promote a culture where compliance is everyone's responsibility and forms an integral part of day-to-day customer service and administration.

- Support internal audits, quality reviews and continuous improvement activities as required.

- Previous experience in team leadership, sales, business development or customer service.

- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate, coach and hold team members accountable.

- Strong organisational and administrative skills with exceptional attention to detail.

- A high level of understanding and commitment to compliance, quality and process.

- The ability to identify risks, address issues and ensure processes are consistently followed.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively to changing client and operational requirements.

- The ability to build robust professional relationships with clients, colleagues, trainers and management.

- The ability to manage multiple training schedules, priorities and deadlines.

- A commitment to continuous improvement and achieving operational excellence.

- Previous experience within the vocational education and training (VET) industry or an RTO environment will be highly regarded.
