The Digital Picnic is seeking a qualified and motivated Marketing Specialist to join our team on a permanent full time basis at our Docklands office in Melbourne.

The successful candidate will identify market opportunities and develop, coordinate and implement data driven marketing and paid‑media strategies that strengthen client brands, reach target audiences and support sustainable business growth.

This position offers approximately 38 hours per week.

Task & responsibilities

- Identify and research market opportunities for clients’ existing and proposed products and services.




- Research customer needs, market characteristics, competitors, consumer behaviour and potential demand.
- Collect and analyse market, campaign, customer and competitor data to support marketing decisions.
- Develop and implement marketing objectives, strategies and programs aligned with client and business goals.
- Advise clients and internal stakeholders on market positioning, pricing, advertising, sales promotion and appropriate marketing channels.
- Develop paid‑media strategies across platforms such as Meta Ads and Google Ads.
- Plan, coordinate and implement advertising and promotional campaigns within approved budgets and timelines.
- Conduct audience, keyword, competitor and market research to inform campaign strategies.
- Coordinate campaign materials, including advertising copy, creative briefs, artwork and landing‑page content.
- Liaise with clients, designers, content specialists and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor advertising expenditure and campaign performance against agreed objectives and key performance indicators.
- Analyse campaign results and prepare performance reports, insights and recommendations.
- Test and optimise campaign audiences, creative material, messaging, placements and budgets.
- Support integrated marketing strategies across paid advertising, social media, websites and email marketing.
- Monitor industry developments, platform changes, market trends and emerging digital marketing opportunities.
- Maintain accurate campaign records, budgets, schedules and client documentation.

Qualification & experience





- Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in marketing, business, commerce, communications, advertising or a related discipline; or at least five years of relevant professional experience in place of a formal qualification.
- Relevant professional experience developing and implementing marketing strategies and programs.
- Demonstrated experience planning, managing and optimising paid media campaigns.
- Experience using Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads.
- Demonstrated experience conducting market, audience, customer and competitor research.
- Experience analysing campaign data and preparing performance reports and recommendations.
- Knowledge of digital-marketing tools, analytics platforms and campaign tracking methods.
- Strong analytical, reporting, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple client campaigns, priorities, deadlines and budgets.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Agency experience or experience managing multiple client accounts will be highly regarded.
