You will be responsible for the full bookkeeping function of the business, supporting the smooth running of financial processes, ensuring accuracy across accounts, payroll, invoicing, and reporting. You will work closely with the leadership team, internal departments, and external accountants to keep the business financially organised and running efficiently.
Key responsibilities
- Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Raising, processing, and following up invoices
- Proactively chasing outstanding debtor payments and maintaining strong client relationships
- Managing internal payroll for approximately 15 employees
- Processing supplier payments and reconciliations
- Bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
- Assisting with month-end processes and reporting
- Supporting the preparation of financial information for external accountants
- Assisting with P&L; reporting, budgeting, and business reporting
- Identifying process improvements and supporting better financial controls
About you
- Proven bookkeeping experience, ideally within a labour hire, recruitment, payroll, or high-volume services environment
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable, including debtor management and invoice follow-up
- Experience processing payroll and managing payroll compliance requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- The ability to work independently and confidently manage competing priorities
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to follow up payments and resolve issues
- Experience using accounting software (Xero experience highly regarded)
- A proactive attitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

This position is based in our Smithfield office and requires attendance 5 days per week.
