Business Development Manager – Short-Term Private & Development Lending

Are you a BDM with a hunter mentality and real credibility in the broker market? Roundtree Search is recruiting on behalf of a leading Australian non-bank lender that's been funding property-backed transactions since 2012, with a national presence.

This lender is one of the few lenders that can say they are well capitaloised with a diversified funding pool - including institutional capital partners.

The Role

n

This is a dual-product BDM role covering both short-term property-backed lending and development finance - residential, commercial, industrial and land subdivision - across the full property lifecycle from acquisition through to construction and exit.

n

You'll originate and grow the portfolio through an established broker, aggregator and adviser network, acting as a trusted lending partner: workshopping deals, structuring solutions and owning opportunities from first enquiry through to financial close.

What You'll Do

n

n
- Proactively generate new business through broker engagement, referral partnerships and networking
n
- Workshop scenarios covering loan purpose, security, exit strategy, feasibility, leverage and funding structure

- Prepare explicit, commercially sound deal submissions for Credit
n
- Partner with Credit, Property Risk, Legal and Operations to keep deals moving to settlement
n
- Educate brokers on product, credit appetite and deal structuring
n
- Maintain accurate pipeline and CRM discipline
n

What You'll Bring

n

n
- Proven experience in private lending, commercial property finance or development finance
n
- A track record of hitting origination and settlement targets
n
- Established relationships in the broker, aggregator or developer market
n
- Strong grasp of bridging, acquisition, refinance and development/construction finance fundamentals
n
- Sound credit judgement and the ability to read financials, valuations and feasibility reports
n
