Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a State Government department to engage a Cyber Security Architect Lead for a 21/09/2026 – 17/09/2027 contract based in Carseldine, QLD.

About the Position

The Cyber Security Architect Lead provides strategic architectural leadership, governance and design authority across cyber security initiatives. The role translates security outcomes into practical solutions while supporting delivery and operational transition

Duties

- Lead cyber security architecture activities across multiple concurrent initiatives
- Establish and maintain cyber security architecture principles, standards and reusable design patterns
- Deliver architecture assurance and design governance throughout project lifecycles
- Support delivery teams to translate architecture into implementable technical outcomes
- Provide technical leadership for procurement activities and technology evaluations

Requirements/Skills

- CISSP certification or equivalent demonstrated experience
- 10+ years’ experience in cyber security architecture and technical leadership roles




- Experience leading architecture across large, complex transformation programs
- Experience developing enterprise security architecture and capability roadmaps
- Solid understanding of government cyber security frameworks
- Experience providing architecture governance and design assurance
- Experience working within large government or highly regulated environments
- Experience with ASD ISM, Essential Eight, NIST CSF 2.0, ISO27001, SABSA and/or TOGAF
- Experience with Microsoft security technologies, identity platforms, SIEM, cloud security platforms and endpoint security
- Ability to provide a recent Police Check and two professional reference checks
