We're looking for an experienced Sandblaster and Painter to join our team in Townsville. You'll be responsible for surface preparation and protective coating application across a range of structural steel construction & mining projects. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in quality finishes and works safely and efficiently in a workshop or on-site environment.

What You'll Be Doing

- Preparing surfaces using abrasive blasting (sand, grit, garnet) to required industry standards.
- Applying protective coatings, primers, and paint systems.
- Inspecting surfaces for correct profile and cleanliness prior to coating.
- Mixing paints and coatings to specification.
- Maintaining and performing basic upkeep of blasting and spray equipment.
- Working to project timelines and quality/safety standards.
- Completing quality checklists, dry film thickness (DFT) readings, and job documentation.
- Maintaining a clean,



safe work area and complying with WHS requirements.

What We're Looking For

- Previous experience in sandblasting and industrial/protective coating application.
- Sound knowledge of surface preparation standards and coating systems.
- Ability to read and interpret coating specifications and job instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in finished work.
- Current driver's licence.
- Forklift/EWP tickets highly regarded but not essential.
