AIMEX, the peak body for Australia’s marine export industry, is looking for a Manager, Great Barrier Reef & Events Coordinator to lead our presence in the Great Barrier Reef region.

n

AIMEX also manages Superyacht Australia and the Australian Commercial Marine Group (ACMG). In 2025, the Superyacht Group Great Barrier Reef (SYGGBR) merged into AIMEX/Superyacht Australia, and remains dedicated to positioning the Great Barrier Reef as a premier global superyacht destination.

Reporting to the CEO, this role leads the strategic promotion, industry engagement and operational delivery of initiatives that grow superyacht visitation and economic outcomes for the Excellent Barrier Reef, including:

- Coordinating the annual Superyacht and Commercial Marine conferences, boat shows and regional events
n
- Leading the ASMEX conference and Awards Gala dinner, the Commercial Marine conference,



and the annual Dockside Cairns event
n
- Hosting monthly Nautical Nights and quarterly Sundowner networking events in Cairns
n
- Building relationships with members and stakeholders to drive membership growth and event revenue
n
- Representing AIMEX, ACMG and Superyacht Australia at overseas events including Monaco, Palm Beach, Amsterdam, Tahiti, Fiji, Thailand, Sydney and Sanctuary Cove
n

What you’ll bring: nn
- Qualifications in event or project management

- The ability to quickly get up to speed on the marine and superyacht industries
n
- A talent for building strong stakeholder and member relationships
n
- Willingness to travel internationally for events
n
