Job Description

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being close to production. You'll be checking raw materials, in-process product and finished goods, completing testing, supporting GMP and HACCP compliance, and helping teams resolve quality issues as they arise. The opportunity goes beyond ticking boxes. You'll help keep standards high, make sure issues are followed through properly, and support clear, practical ways of working across Quality and Operations.

Key responsibilities

n

Conduct routine quality checks on raw materials, in-process product and finished goods

n

Perform environmental and product testing in line with site procedures

n

Monitor compliance with GMP, HACCP and site food safety standards

n

Complete quality records accurately and escalated non-conformances promptly

n

Support production teams with quality queries and practical problem solving

n

Create and update Standard Work Instructions and quality procedures

n

Assist with internal audits and follow up corrective actions through to completion

n

Deliver induction training for new production employees and support ongoing development

n

Contribute to a safe workplace and support environmental and waste-reduction initiatives

n

About you

n

Relevant qualifications in Food Processing, Science or Food Science

n





Experience in laboratory applications and/or the food industry

n

Demonstrated experience in a food manufacturing setting

n

Strong technical capability and attention to detail

n

The ability to troubleshoot, investigate issues and solve problems

n

Clear written and verbal communication skills

n

The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

n

A self-motivated, practical approach and a strong focus on results

n

What success will look like

n

You'll know you are making an impact when quality checks and records are completed consistently, non-conformances are picked up early, corrective actions are closed out and production teams have clear, practical support when they need it.

GMP, HACCP and site standards are not just documented; they are visible in the way the operation works every day.
