About the Role

n

As AH Fencing continues to grow nationally and bring fabrication in-house, we're looking for an experienced Boilermaker / Workshop Lead to take ownership of our Victorian manufacturing spoke in Melbourne.

n

This isn't production-line work. You'll be fabricating custom steel and aluminium gates and fencing for commercial and industrial projects across Victoria — including one-off jobs and complex fabrication that requires real skill and attention to detail.

n

We need someone who knows their trade, backs their ability and can take ownership of the workshop while still getting on the tools.

What You'll Be Doing

n

- Fabricating custom steel and aluminium fencing and gates
n
- Working with SHS, tube, plate, angle and sheet
n
- MIG welding, cutting and fabricating to specification
n
- Reading fabrication drawings and working accurately to measurements
n
- Managing quality control before anything leaves the workshop
n




- Receiving and moving stock using a forklift
n
- Keeping on top of workshop stock and material requirements
n
- Liaising with site and construction teams on measurements, tolerances and fixing details
n
- Getting in office and installing gates during quieter workshop periods
n
- Taking ownership of workshop output, quality and organisation
n

What We're Looking For

n

This role carries real autonomy and responsibility, so we need someone who can run their own patch without needing to be chased.

n

You'll need:

n

n
- Trade-qualified Boilermaker — Cert III or equivalent
n
- Current Victorian forklift licence (LF)
n
- Previous fencing and gate fabrication experience
n
- Confidence MIG welding steel and aluminium
n
- Ability to read fabrication drawings and work accurately to specification
n
- Strong attention to detail and quality
n
- Ability to work independently and take ownership
n
- Good communication with project, construction and site teams
n
- A strong understanding of workshop and site safety
n

Fencing and gate fabrication experience is a must. This isn't a general boilermaking shop — we need someone who already understands the product.
