Reporting to the Executive Chef Norths Collective, we are looking for an experienced Head Chef to join our team.

The Head Chef is responsible for the day-to-day production and operation of all the food operations of the venue, including our functions and events menu. The Head Chef will be responsible for the implementation of business goals, promotions & strategies of food operations as set by the General Manager and Executive Chef. To deliver an exceptional experience to all customers by delivering classic and contemporary cuisine to the highest possible standards. To be responsible for all aspects of catering including production, planning and people leadership and training.
Joining Norths Cammeray means you are part of Norths Collective which includes The Greens North Sydney, The Alcott Lane Cove, The Verandah Beecroft and Seagulls Tweed Heads.
Your Key Priorities will be to:
- Financial Performance. Maintain cost efficiencies and promote new ideas for cost reduction, while ensuring that the operational budget is in line and costs are strictly controlled maximising profitability. - Strategy and Planning. Play an integral role by ordering , rostering and leading the team to manage daily outlets and events across the venue , keeping ahead anticipated business levels while developing a culture of excellence .
- Team Management.
Build a strong team by maintaining a harmonious and mutually beneficial working relationship with staff, management and customers in a pressured setting.
- Hygiene and food safety. Maintain highest level of food safety and hygiene in accordance with food safety guidelines and club policies and procedures.
- Communication. Maintain effective communication with all key stakeholders including senior management, line managers and kitchen staff through scheduled weekly meetings, emails and training .
- Work, Safety, Health and Compliance. Actively support a range of activities in accordance with Work, Health & Safety legislation obligations and in line with Risk Management Program as well as HACCP audit compliance. Ensure compliance wherever necessary including all relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice.
The Candidate:
- Experience in a high volume multiple outlet 5-star commercial catering role
- Proven leadership and staff leadership experience
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
- Diploma in Hospitality Management is highly desirable
- Strong experience in service and managing high volume food operations
- NSW Food Safety Supervisor & NSW Food Hygiene Certificates
- Current First Aid, CPR and Advanced Resuscitation Certificates
- People person and passionate leader that drives team culture
- Good MS office and digital understanding , time management and strategic thinking skillset
- Previous experience of managing an operating budget with P&L; responsibilities
