Job Summary

The Golf Course Superintendent at Carrington Estate is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the golf course maintenance and operations to ensure optimal playing conditions and exceptional customer experience. The Golf Course Superintendent will lead a team of groundskeepers, ensuring proper care and maintenance of all golf course areas, equipment, and facilities.

The Golf Course Superintendent will lead a team of groundskeepers, ensuring proper care and maintenance of all golf course areas, equipment, and facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Develop and implement effective maintenance and agronomic programs that promote high-quality playing conditions and overall course appearance.
- Monitor and adjust course maintenance practices, including mowing, fertilization, irrigation, and pest control, as necessary to maintain ideal playing conditions.
- Supervise and lead a team of groundskeepers, ensuring assigned tasks are completed efficiently and meet required standards.
- Develop and manage and monitor expenses and identifying cost‑saving opportunities while maintaining course quality.
- Collaborate with Department Heads to plan and execute golf course maintenance and improvement projects.
- Implement strategies to enhance the sustainability and environmental practices of the golf course.
- Conduct regular course inspections to identify and address issues, such as turf diseases, pests,



irrigation malfunctions, and equipment performance.
- Manage the inventory of golf course maintenance supplies, equipment, and materials, and coordinate repairs and replacements as needed.
- Stay up‑to‑date with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in golf course maintenance and turf management.
- Participate in the hiring, training, and performance evaluation processes for the groundskeeping team.
- Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and career development among staff members.
- Ensure strict compliance with regards to Health & Safety Regulations regarding Golf Course Operations. Including documentation, training records, chemical usage and appropriate equipment used for compliance.
- Maintain accurate records, such as maintenance logs, chemical application records, equipment inventory, and staff attendance and performance.
- Develop and enforce safety protocols, ensuring all staff members adhere to proper safety procedures and use personal protective equipment.
- Regular interaction with Golf Club Members and to check quality, gain feedback and good relations with all those who play on our course.
- Complete a weekly golf operation management report on the condition and upkeep of the course.

Qualifications

- Turf management qualification, agronomy,



or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or in a similar role.
- Sound knowledge of golf course maintenance practices, including turf care, irrigation systems, and equipment operation.
- Strong understanding of turfgrass varieties, soil types, and fertilization practices.
- Familiarity with pest and weed control methods specific to golf courses.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
- Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff, golf club members, and other stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Familiarity with budgeting and cost control principles.
- Proficiency in using computer software and golf course management systems.

Working Conditions

The Golf Course Superintendent will primarily work outdoors, exposed to various weather conditions, including heat, rain, and cold. The position requires physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects. Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays, is necessary to accommodate golf course maintenance needs and events.
