South East Rural Supplies is an independent, locally owned rural store proudly supporting farmers, agricultural businesses and the local community in Cooma and the surrounding region. We’re looking for a Sales Support Officer to join our friendly team of six. This is a fantastic opportunity to become an integral part of a busy rural business, working with a broad range of agricultural enterprises while enjoying the benefits of a close-knit country town.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, customer-facing position where no two days are the same. You’ll combine excellent customer service with administration, stock management and practical store support.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing friendly, knowledgeable service to customers, suppliers and service provides across the counter and over the phone

- Processing counter sales, pricing enquiries and product queries

- Managing day-to-day administration, including stock control, ordering, receiving, receipting and dispatch

- Assisting with the safe storage and handling of rural products, including stock feed, animal health products, crop protection chemicals and fencing

- Assisting with merchandise and promotional campaign material

- Keeping the store welcoming, organised, safe and well-presented

- Working closely with the team to keep the store running efficiently

- Pitching in wherever needed - because in a small team,

About You

We’re looking for someone who is energetic, practical and customer-focused, with a genuine interest in the rural industry.

You’ll ideally bring:

- Previous experience in a fast-paced customer service setting

- Rural merchandising or retail experience (highly regarded)

- A sound understanding of agricultural products and the rural industry

- Confidence and professionalism when answering and making telephone calls

- Excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to communicate confidently with customers, suppliers and team members

- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn

- Initiative and a practical approach to solving problems

- Good computer skills and confidence learning new systems

- Excellent organisation and time-management skills

- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a small team

- A proactive approach and willingness to get involved

A manual driver’s licence is preferred, and a forklift licence is desirable.
