Red Bolt Engineering Pty Ltd – Toowoomba QLD

This is a full-time, on-site Fabricator role based in Toowoomba, QLD. The Fabricator will interpret engineering drawings and specifications to fabricate components and assemblies for industrial equipment and heavy structures, lifting devices. Day-to-day tasks include cutting, forming, and welding metals, setting up and operating fabrication tools and machinery, fitting and assembling parts, and performing basic finishing such as grinding and deburring. The role involves collaborating with engineers and project managers, following safety and quality procedures, and conducting inspections to ensure all work meets relevant standards and certifications. The Fabricator will also assist with material handling, work area housekeeping, and continuous improvement of fabrication processes.

Key responsibilities

- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to fabricate components and assemblies for industrial equipment, heavy structures, lifting devices, and pressure vessels
- Cut, form, and weld metals
- Set up and operate fabrication tools and machinery
- Fit and assemble parts
- Perform basic finishing such as grinding and deburring
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers
- Follow safety and quality procedures
- Conduct inspections to ensure all work meets relevant standards and certifications
- Assist with material handling and work area housekeeping
- Contribute to continuous improvement of fabrication processes

About you

- Strong fabrication skills, including metal cutting, forming, fitting,



and assembly for heavy fabrication and industrial equipment
- Competence in welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, stick) and use of fabrication tools such as presses, drills, grinders, and measuring equipment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical sketches, and specifications accurately
- Experience working to quality, safety, and compliance standards in a workshop or manufacturing environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and project personnel
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a proactive approach to maintaining a secure, organized workspace
- Relevant trade qualification in fabrication, welding, or metal engineering (or equivalent practical experience)
- Experience in heavy fabrication and lifting devices is highly regarded; basic knowledge of mechanical systems is beneficial
- 3rd/4th apprentices and 2nd class welders are encouraged to apply
