Trade Assistant - Pathway to Apprenticeship | Junior

North Coast Mower Centre is seeking a Trade Assistant - Pathway to Apprenticeship to join our growing team in Maleny, QLD. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in the mechanical field. As a Trade Assistant, you will work alongside experienced technicians in a hands on environment, gaining practical skills and knowledge whilst working towards a formal apprenticeship. This role is ideal for school leavers or those seeking to transition into a skilled trade, providing mentorship, structured learning and a clear pathway to professional qualification.

Key responsibilities

Assisting experienced technicians with the repair, maintenance and servicing of lawn mowers and outdoor power equipment

Learning and applying safe workshop practices and procedures at all times

Preparing work areas and gathering tools and materials required for technician tasks

Cleaning, testing and performing quality checks on equipment under supervision

Supporting the dismantling and reassembly of engines and mechanical components

Maintaining accurate records of work completed and hours spent on tasks

Keeping the workshop clean, organised and adhering to health and safety standards

Undertaking training and developing knowledge in mechanical and technical skills

Contributing to a positive team environment and supporting customer service excellence

What we're looking for

A genuine interest in learning a skilled trade and working with mechanical equipment

Physical fitness and ability to perform hands-on work in a workshop environment





Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship

Willingness to follow instructions and learn from experienced mentors

Reliability and excellent punctuality

Ability to work safely and comply with all health and safety requirements

Sound communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork

A valid driver's licence is preferred

No prior trade experience is required—we will provide comprehensive on-the-job training
