Modern Designer Homes is seeking an experienced Residential Construction Estimator to join our growing team in Epping. This role is suitable for a highly organised and detail-focused estimator with a strong understanding of the Victorian residential construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate sales and production estimates for single-storey and double-storey custom homes.

Key responsibilities

n

Prepare accurate sales and production estimates for residential construction projects

n

Complete detailed material and labour take-offs

n

Prepare Bills of Quantities, project costings and purchase orders

n

Review architectural drawings, engineering plans, specifications, colour selections and contract documentation

n

Prepare pricing for client variations, upgrades and customised designs

n

Obtain and assess quotations from suppliers and subcontractors

n

Maintain and update supplier pricing, estimating templates and cost databases

n

Identify discrepancies, missing information and potential cost risks before construction

n





Work closely with the sales, drafting, procurement, administration and construction teams

n

Ensure estimates are completed accurately and within required timeframes

n

About you

n

A minimum of three years' experience as an estimator within the Australian residential construction industry

n

Experience estimating detached homes, including single-storey and double-storey projects

n

Strong proficiency in Databuild or Buildxact estimating software

n

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

n

The ability to accurately read and interpret architectural drawings, engineering plans and construction documentation

n

Sound knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, terminology and building stages

n

Experience preparing take-offs, Bills of Quantities, purchase orders and variations

n

Solid numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills

n

Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy

n

Good communication, organisation and time-management skills
