You will lead and be accountable for the performance and continuous improvement of our transactional finance function, covering Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit Control and banking. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will provide leadership to our Finance Officers and Credit Controllers, act as the escalation point for issues arising between the transactional finance team and other functions and take ownership of resolving them.

This is a genuine leadership role rather than a processing role. You will be expected to identify the root cause of recurring issues, implement lasting process solutions, and reduce the team's reliance on escalation over time, while maintaining strong oversight of financial controls, reporting and cash flow.

Key Responsibilities:

- Ownership of transactional finance performance: accountable for the accuracy, timeliness and control integrity of AP, AR, Credit Control and banking processes, identifying root causes of recurring issues
- Maintaining reporting and visibility over key AP, AR and Credit Control metrics (e.g. aged AP, AR, unapplied cash)
- People leadership: leading, coaching and developing the Finance Officers and Credit Controllers, and building team capability
- Strategic liaison and issue resolution: acting as the escalation point for issues and providing solutions-oriented recommendations
- Reconciliations and financial controls: overseeing bank reconciliations, AR/AP balance reviews and cash flow management to ensure sufficient funds are available to meet obligations
- Integration of new acquisitions:



leading the integration of newly acquired businesses' AP and AR processes and opening balances into Group finance systems
- Process improvement: proactively identifying and implementing process improvements, and documenting finance procedures for consistent application across the team

What We're Looking For:

- Minimum three (3) years finance team leadership experience, preferably in a professional environment
- Experience with accounts receivable, credit control or accounts payable processes
- Ability to undertake complex reconciliations of accounts payable or accounts receivable ledgers
- High level computer literacy, particularly with computerised accounting packages (experience with Microsoft Great Plains, D365 or Netsuite highly regarded)
- Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to guide team members and support stakeholders
- Well-developed planning and organisational skills with high attention to detail
