Catholic Education Queensland Limited – Brisbane QLD

As an Education Officer, you will research, monitor and provide timely strategic information and advice on Commonwealth and State educational issues to the Board and Catholic School Authorities. You will represent CEQL effectively through formation of strategic partnerships, collaboration, advocacy, liaison and negotiation as required with agencies such as Australian and State Government Departments of Education and Training, State Schools, and Independent Schools Queensland (ISQ) and other relevant education bodies.

Key responsibilities

Research, monitor and provide timely strategic information and advice on Commonwealth and State educational issues to the Board and Catholic School Authorities

Represent CEQL effectively through formation of strategic partnerships, collaboration, advocacy, liaison and negotiation with agencies such as Australian and State Government Departments of Education and Training, State Schools, and Independent Schools Queensland (ISQ) and other relevant education bodies

Provide effective leadership and support for CEQL Consultation Groups

Manage identified education programs and initiatives in an appropriate manner

About you

Support for the vision, mission and values of CEQL

Demonstrated knowledge of strategic and operational education issues and priorities, including national and state educational trends





Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills including experience in preparing reports, submissions and issues papers

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and ability to provide quality quick turn-around advice on key education issues

High level government program and project management skills including capacity to prioritise, manage and meet deadlines

Appropriate qualifications at tertiary level

Commitment to participate in and contribute to building a positive and cooperative staff culture

Experience with, or strong knowledge of, Vocational Education and Training, school-based apprenticeships and traineesships, and/or senior secondary years of schooling would be an advantage
