Hurford's is a well-established national Wholesale business, specialising in supplying an extensive range of building products to merchants and re-sellers. Based at our Stapylton QLD head office, this is a full time hands-on role combining end-to-end payroll responsibilities with a broad range of finance functions.

About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be a supportive team member who can process accurate payment of salaries and wages, in addition to supporting the wider finance team with a range of tasks. This is a genuine hybrid payroll and finance role. While payroll is a key responsibility, you will also play an important role across accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, stock reporting and month-end activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Payroll processing – weekly & fortnightly – accurately and within required deadlines.
- All payroll administration including superannuation, year-end processing, reconciliations and required reporting.




- Administration of business cards via the online expense management system.
- Administration and monitoring of purchase order system.
- General Ledger duties including bank reconciliations and other ad-hoc items.
- Weekly & monthly stock reporting.
- Administration of monthly supplier warranty claims.
- Assistance with month- and year-end processing.
- General administration support, including cover for other team members during leave.

About You

- Ideally 2+ years’ experience of payroll.
- Experience in a similar support role.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Organised and highly motivated with a goal-oriented attitude.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of pride in your work.
- Strong organisational and self-management skills and the ability to workin a team environment.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small finance team.
