If you're an experienced machinist or toolmaker ready to step away from running machines all day, this could be your next move.

You'll use the skills you already have to measure precision parts, read drawings and check tolerances for a Brisbane manufacturer of robotic laboratory equipment. You'll inspect incoming parts, review supplier reports and help resolve defects when something is not right.

Quality experience is helpful but not essential, as training is provided if you are a machinist coming off the tools

Responsibilities

n

n
- Inspect incoming parts against drawings and supplier reports
n
- Measure complex machined parts with hand tools and the CMM
n
- Raise non-conformances and work them through with suppliers
n
- Carry out in-process inspection alongside the production team
n
- Run internal audits across other parts of the business
n
- Travel once or twice a year to audit overseas suppliers
n
- Keep inspection and production records accurate in the ERP
n
- Support the R&D; team through new product introduction
n

Essential Skills

n

n
- Hands-on experience measuring precision-machined parts
n
- Confident using micrometres, verniers, gauges & measuring tools
n
- Read engineering drawings, tolerances and GD&T;
n
- Trade or production background, ideally as a machinist or toolmaker
n
- Comfortable using computers and completing accurate documentation
n
- CMM or PC-DMIS experience is an advantage, but training is provided
n
- Quality or inspection experience is helpful but not essential
n
- Full Australian working rights. Sponsorship is not available
n
