About the Role

n

We are currently seeking an experienced Day shift Maintenance Fitter for an ongoing chance with our manufacturing client, working within a busy industrial environment.

n

This is a hands‐on maintenance role focused on maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment, minimising production downtime, and supporting the reliability and efficiency of plant and machinery.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

Maintenance & Repairs

n

n
- Perform routine, preventative and breakdown maintenance on manufacturing equipment
n
- Diagnose mechanical faults and complete timely and effective repairs
n
- Maintain and service conveyors, mixers, presses, cutters, kilns and automated production systems
n
- Investigate equipment failures and identify root causes to prevent recurring issues
n
- Carry out general mechanical repairs and maintenance as required
n

n

Installation & Continuous Improvement

n

n
- Assist with the installation, commissioning and upgrades of new machinery and equipment
n
- Identify opportunities to improve plant reliability, efficiency and performance
n
- Modify, manufacture and fabricate mechanical components where required
n
- Support plant improvement initiatives and equipment upgrades
n

n

Troubleshooting & Production Support

n

n
- Respond quickly and effectively to machinery breakdowns
n




- Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime and maintain production output
n
- Apply strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills to resolve mechanical issues
n
- Work effectively under pressure during breakdown situations
n
- Assist with maintaining efficient operation of production equipment
n

Key Skills & Experience

n

n
- Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter / Fitter Machinist
n
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, production or industrial environment
n
- Heavy industry experience highly regarded
n
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
n
- Experience maintaining manufacturing and production machinery
n
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and conveyor systems
n
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
n
- Basic welding and fabrication skills highly regarded
n
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
n
- Reliable and capable of working autonomously
n
- Robust communication and teamwork skills
n
- Ability to remain calm and effective when working under breakdown pressure
n
