Churchlands Senior High School (SHS) are seeking to establish a pool of Humanities and Social Science (HASS) Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

Suitable applicants will ideally have the capacity to create a safe, inclusive learning environment. They will be highly collaborative and reflective: able to promote, design and deliver engaging lessons which support students with different needs to grow in confidence and capacity.





The HASS Learning Area provides a variety of electives for lower secondary students and offers senior school courses in addition to the core HASS subjects for Years 7 to 10. We encourage applicants with experience in both mainstream HASS and/or any of the following areas to apply: Geography, Economics, Modern History, Politics and Law, Philosophy and Ethics and Business Management and Enterprise.

As reflective practitioners, applicants should display an enthusiasm for taking up professional learning opportunities to maximise student engagement, build a common language and promote teacher reflection. Suitable applicants should use a range of formative assessment strategies, engage in moderation and marking processes, provide effective, timely feedback to students and use data to evaluate and improve the impact of their teaching. They will ideally have the capacity to initiate and maintain respectful and caring relationships with students, colleagues and the wider school community.

- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
