First Auto Parts Plus is looking for a Mechanic / Automotive All-Rounder to join our team in Seaford.

We specialise in commercial vehicle and 4x4 recycling and have been operating in the automotive parts industry for over 30 years. We work across a wide range of vehicles, including vans, late-model utes, 4x4s, commercial vehicles, and American trucks.

Not fully qualified yet? This position may still suit you if you have prior hands-on automotive experience, good mechanical knowledge, practical ability, and the right attitude.

This role is ideal for someone with mechanical experience who is looking for a change from dealership, servicing, or general workshop work. Instead of rushed servicing, customer pressure, or repair work, you’ll be working hands-on with vehicles, removing, assessing, and preparing parts in a structured dismantling and recycling environment.

This is a full-time position based in Seaford, working Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

About the role

The position involves processing vehicles systematically and removing parts and components for resale. You’ll be using your mechanical knowledge to identify, remove, assess, check, and prepare parts as required.

Duties include:

- Following parts and vehicle processing documents
- Removing parts and components from vehicles
- Grading and assessing parts
- Testing some items where required
- Cleaning and preparing parts when needed
- Keeping your workstation clean and organised
- Removing specific parts from vehicles as requested by job orders
- Assisting other team members where required

About you





This role would suit someone who is a qualified mechanic, experienced automotive worker, apprentice, or a capable hands-on person with good vehicle and parts knowledge.

We’re looking for someone who has:

- A genuine interest in cars, 4x4s, vans, utes, commercial vehicles, and American trucks
- Good mechanical knowledge
- Practical hands-on ability
- Good problem-solving skills
- Strong time management
- A positive attitude
- The ability to work as part of a small team
- A reliable and hands-on approach
- Own basic tools suitable for mechanical work and dismantling

A forklift licence would be highly regarded but is not essential.

In this role, you’ll continue to build robust mechanical and parts knowledge across a wide range of vehicles, including vans, late-model utes, 4x4s, commercial vehicles, and American trucks. You’ll get exposure to different vehicle systems, layouts, parts, and common failure points that you may not see as often in standard servicing or repair work.

The successful applicant may be required to complete a pre-employment medical and police check.
