Experienced Disability Support Workers – Complex 2:1 Support

Community 3SIX5 is a registered NDIS provider delivering high-quality, person-centred disability support across Queensland.

We are seeking compassionate, reliable and highly experienced Disability Support Workers to support a participant in Wellington Point who requires structured 2:1 support due to complex behaviours of concern and high support needs.

This is a specialised role requiring workers who can remain calm under pressure, follow established support plans consistently, and work closely with another support worker to maintain the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved.

About the Role

You will work as part of a consistent 2:1 support team, providing structured and person-centred assistance within the participant’s home and community.

The participant’s support needs may include:

- Complex and high-risk behaviours of concern
- Emotional regulation and de-escalation support
- High-intensity daily living assistance
- Epilepsy and complex medical needs
- Implementation of a Positive Behaviour Support Plan
- Personal care and daily living activities
- Community access and participation
- Consistent routines, boundaries and communication strategies

This position is best suited to someone who is confident, emotionally resilient, observant and able to respond safely and professionally during challenging situations.

Key Responsibilities

- Work collaboratively with another support worker in a structured 2:1 environment
- Follow the participant’s Behaviour Support Plan, care plans and risk-management strategies
- Recognise potential triggers and early warning signs




- Use proactive support and approved de-escalation techniques
- Respond safely and calmly to incidents and behaviours of concern
- Support personal care, daily routines and community participation
- Assist with epilepsy and other complex health-related needs
- Promote the participant’s independence, dignity, choice and quality of life
- Maintain clear communication with the other worker throughout the shift
- Complete detailed shift notes, incident reports and required documentation
- Work collaboratively with the participant’s family, therapists and wider support team
- Follow all organisational, NDIS and workplace health and safety requirements

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

- Demonstrated experience supporting people with complex or high-risk behaviours of concern
- Experience working within 2:1 support arrangements
- Experience implementing Behaviour Support Plans and risk-management strategies
- Strong de-escalation, communication and crisis-response skills
- The ability to remain calm, professional and safety-focused under pressure
- Experience supporting participants with seizures or epilepsy
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates
- Current driver licence
- A reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
- Availability to work across a 24/7 roster,



including active and inactive sleepover shifts
- The physical and emotional capacity to safely perform the responsibilities of the role

Highly Regarded

The following experience and training will be highly regarded:

- MAYBO or similar positive behaviour and safety training
- Medication competency
- Epilepsy and seizure-management training
- Manual-handling experience
- Mental health or psychosocial disability experience
- Trauma-informed care experience
- Experience with complex communication needs
- Experience completing incident reports and detailed documentation

A variety of shifts are available across a 24/7 roster, including:

- Weekday and weekend shifts
- Day and evening shifts
- Active sleepover shifts
- Inactive sleepover shifts
- Public holiday shifts

Reliable and flexible availability is highly regarded. Regular casual hours may be available for suitable applicants.
