Sarah’s Music Academy is growing, and we’re looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and reliable Guitar Teacher to join our friendly and supportive teaching team.

We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with students and wants to build a consistent weekly teaching timetable within a growing music school.

About Sarah’s Music Academy

Sarah’s Music Academy is an independent music school providing personalised in-person lessons to students of all ages and abilities.

Our goal is to create a fun, positive and inspiring environment where students can develop their musical skills, creativity and confidence.

Students learn songs they enjoy while developing their technique, musical knowledge and confidence. We also offer opportunities for students to participate in bands, concerts, showcases and other performance opportunities throughout the year.

Our teachers are supported with administration and scheduling, allowing them to focus on what they do best — teaching music.

The Prospect

We currently have opportunities for a Guitar Teacher on Monday and Thursday afternoons/evenings.

You will teach students ranging from young beginners through to teenagers and adults, with lessons tailored to each student’s ability, interests and goals.

- Opportunity to build additional regular hours as the academy grows

Pay & Position

- $28–$42 per hour + superannuation, depending on experience, qualifications and teaching ability
- Subcontractor position
- Regular weekly teaching available
- Students supplied by the academy
- No requirement to source your own students

Pay: Up to $42.00 per hour

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

- Is confident playing and teaching guitar
- Is passionate about music and enjoys sharing that passion with students
- Enjoys working with children and young people
- Is friendly, patient and encouraging
- Is reliable and committed to consistent weekly teaching
- Can communicate professionally with students, parents and the academy
- Can work independently while being part of a wider teaching team
- Is able to create engaging lessons tailored to individual students

Teaching experience is preferred but not essential for the right candidate. Current music students, graduates and experienced musicians are welcome to apply if they have strong musical ability and a genuine interest in teaching.

Reliability and consistent weekly availability are extremely important for this role.

- Right to work in Australia
- Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Previous teaching experience preferred but not essential
- Availability for consistent weekly teaching
