Job Description

An established mortgage broking firm is looking for a driven, sales-minded Junior Mortgage Broker to join our team — with a clear pathway to becoming a fully accredited Mortgage Broker. This is a genuine mentorship-style entry point into the industry, where you'll be coached, supported, and progressively handed more responsibility as you build your skills and complete your qualifications.

You'll start by running initial discovery calls with provided leads (phone and video-based), with some cold calling involved in building and qualifying your own pipeline. As you develop your product knowledge, compliance understanding, and client-facing confidence, you'll be mentored toward managing your own client relationships end-to-end and ultimately writing loans as a broker in your own right.

Key responsibilities

- Running initial discovery calls with provided leads, conducted by phone and video
n
- Making outbound and some cold calls to build, warm, and qualify your pipeline
n
- Following structured call scripts and discovery frameworks while building your own rapport and questioning style
n
- Handling initial client questions and objections professionally and compliantly
n
- Accurately logging call outcomes, fact-find details, and client information in our CRM
n
- Working closely with senior brokers and management to learn the end-to-end mortgage broking process
n
- Progressively taking on full client relationships and loan write-ups as you build experience and complete your Certificate IV
n




- Meeting and exceeding call and discovery targets and KPIs
n

About you

n

n
- Sales and/or cold calling experience is essential
n
- Confident, resilient, and comfortable on the phone and on video calls
n
- Coachable — genuinely open to feedback and keen to learn the mortgage broking craft
n
- Well organised, with solid attention to detail for CRM and compliance record-keeping
n
- Motivated by a long-term career path, not just a short-term role
n
- Have completed, or are currently completing, a Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking (highly regarded, not mandatory to apply)
n
- Experience with Connective/Mercury Nexus, Apply Online, and Microsoft Office applications is highly regarded but not essential
n
- Prior experience in real estate, finance, insurance, or another target-driven sales environment is a plus
