The Role
This diverse role offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to the day-to-day success of a large-scale mixed-farming operation. You will ensure high standards of livestock handling and husbandry across the enterprises, including mustering both sheep and cattle, utilising a combination of horsemanship and your own trained working dogs, to facilitate efficient and low-stress stock movement across the property's diverse terrain. Beyond livestock, the role encompasses essential farm maintenance, including spraying, fencing, and general upkeep to keep the property running efficiently.
Our clients are a proud, family-owned business with a rich history spanning 136 years. Based near Quirindi, the operation specialises in premium Merino wool production, running a significant flock of 12,000 self-replacing Merinos alongside a quality herd of 150 Angus cows. The business operates across a 6,000-hectare landscape, focusing on high-quality genetics.
The operation is spread across two prime locations, with one property situated just 10km from the comprehensive services available in Quirindi and the second an additional 14kms away at Wallabadah. This long-standing enterprise offers stability and the chance to work within a well-regarded family business that values quality livestock and dedicated team members.
We are looking for an individual who is comfortable working autonomously with minimal instruction,



has the ability to utilise various machinery and vehicles, demonstrates initiative in their daily tasks, and collaborates effectively with the owners and contractors as part of a professional team.

In addition to a competitive salary, this position includes a dedicated work vehicle and ration sheep. While on-site accommodation is not currently available, the employer offers a rent subsidy for the right applicant to secure local housing.

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a motivated individual with a genuine passion for working with Merinos and livestock who meets the following criteria:

- Proven station or farm experience with competent livestock handling skills.
- Competent horse rider with experience traversing steep terrain.
- Ownership and ability to work with your own trained working dogs.
- Possession of a current Class C Drivers Licence (Heavy Vehicle or Chemical Card beneficial).
- Highly capable of working autonomously and demonstrating strong initiative.
