About the opportunity

Are you passionate about spatial data, analytics, and technology? This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in GIS, spatial analysis, and data visualisation to deliver impactful Geospatial Intelligence products and services. Working within the Emergency Management Directorate, you will help drive innovation, support critical operations, and transform complex spatial information into actionable intelligence for NSW SES.

Tasks include:

- Design and deliver innovative GIS solutions, undertake complex spatial analysis, and develop high-quality geospatial products including maps, dashboards, and field collection tools.
- Support effective administration of the NSW Flood Data Portal and flood data management services
- Support AIIMS Mapping Officer role in Operational response

About you

To be successful in this role you will:

- hold relevant tertiary qualifications/ and or experience in GIS/spatial information, in particular ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro and VertiGIS Studio;
- have prior experience in the administration and maintenance of GIS including ArcGIS portal administration, effective database management and advanced spatial analysis such as use of SQL server, FME or python;
- Understand the geospatial application development lifecycle and apply GIS research, best practice, standards, and architecture to support and align business and operational processes
- Possess excellent presentation and written communication skills to lead the delivery of GIS training, coordinate volunteer mapping initiatives for operational response, and fulfil Mapping Officer role as required.
