Role: Café Attendant and Barista

Status: Part Time, 2 days a week

Location: Mancel College @ Fig Tree Pocket, Brisbane

Role Commencing: As soon as possible

Mancel College is looking for a Casual Cafe Attendant and Barista to jump right into the action, helping us deliver exceptional service and delicious food.

You will be working in a small team in our College Café and help keep things running smoothly during the busy morning rush, brewing high-quality coffee, preparing and servicing fresh food.

You will also assist with maintaining a clean and organised workspace, assisting with restocking inventory, and supporting food preparation.

Our cafe is more than just a place to grab a bite - it's a lively gathering spot for the entire school community. You will be interacting with a wide range of customers and consistently delivering warm, positive service that enhances our community spirit.

What you will do

As our Cafe Assistant & Barista, you will:

- Deliver exceptional customer service, resolving enquiries and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to the smooth flow of daily cafe operations, especially during busy periods, adapting quickly to demand.
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and beverages with outstanding barista skills.
- Maintain stock levels, support supplier relationships, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist with food preparation and service, ensuring our offerings are fresh, appealing, and served efficiently.
- Collaborate with the school and external community to provide a welcoming cafe environment.

What you will bring

- A valid Working with Children’s Check (QLD Blue Card).
- An organised, plan ahead and service focused individual.
- Previous experience in a cafe or hospitality role, with solid café operational skills.
- Expertise in barista skills, food preparation, safe food handling, and supporting kitchen operations.
- Food Safety Supervisor Qualifications(desirable)




- Strong communication and collaboration skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills to balance competing demands.
- A positive, friendly attitude with a focus on teamwork.
