Warrior Fabrication is a growing Australian manufacturing company based in Campbellfield, VIC. We are looking for an experienced CAD Draftsperson / SolidWorks Designer to support our design, product development and manufacturing operations.

n

This is a hands-on design role suited to someone who understands how sheet-metal products are manufactured and can produce accurate, practical and production-ready designs.

Key responsibilities

n

n
- Create detailed 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks
n
- Design sheet-metal components and fabricated assemblies
n
- Prepare accurate flat patterns, DXF files and production drawings
n
- Produce bend details, tolerances, weld details and assembly drawings
n
- Check all dimensions and specifications before releasing files for manufacture
n
- Design products suitable for laser cutting, press-brake bending, welding and assembly
n
- Work closely with production staff to resolve manufacturing issues
n
- Modify and improve existing products and designs
n
- Assist with new product development and prototyping
n
- Maintain organised drawing files, revisions and documentation
n

About you

n

n
- Solid knowledge of SolidWorks is essential
n
- Advanced experience with SolidWorks Sheet Metal
n
- Good understanding of bends, flanges, bend allowances, K-factors and flat patterns
n




- Ability to create accurate manufacturing and engineering drawings
n
- Experience working with sheet-metal parts and welded assemblies
n
- Practical knowledge of laser cutting, press-brake bending and welding
n
- Ability to check designs for manufacturability before production
n
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
n
- Positive communication skills and the ability to work with production staff
n
- Relevant qualification in engineering drafting, mechanical engineering, product design or a related field
n
- Previous experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment is highly regarded
